Superintendent's Holiday Message

Superintendent's Holiday Message
Ralph Watkins

Dear Students, Staff, Families, and Community members:

During this extremely busy time of year as the first semester begins to wind down and with the holiday season upon us, I want to take the time to extend my best wishes and greetings to you.

My deepest gratitude goes to our dedicated staff and faculty. Your work and the work of all of our community partners is so profoundly appreciated, especially at this time of year. May this season be one of generosity enjoyed by all.  May we all sleep in warm beds, share warm meals, enjoy laughter and togetherness.  It is only in togetherness that we will succeed.

The greatest gift we receive this season is what we feel in our hearts when we share with others. So relax, recharge and reflect over the Holiday Season. I hope you will take this time to think about the many ways in which you have contributed to the success of our students, families and your colleagues. I appreciate all that you do to make Hoonah City Schools a great place for learning, growing and working. It’s been a great start to the school year and I look forward to continuing our work in 2019.

Finally, please keep those who are serving our country abroad and can’t be home with there families and who may be alone this holiday season in your hearts and minds. Remember the spirit of the season is one of love, generosity, and forgiveness.

Again, I wish you a peaceful and safe holiday.

All the best,

Ralph M. Watkins
