School Counseling

School Counseling is a comprehensive program that addresses the whole child and family system. Student guidance is an important component of Hoonah City School’s commitment to providing the best educational experience to our students. During the school year, meetings and individual conferences are held with students to address issues throughout the year to help students succeed in all areas of life.  A comprehensive counseling department focuses on healthy relationships, social skills, problem solving skills, self-management, emotional regulation, healthy habits, and career and college readiness. Students are provided with support throughout the year and have a wealth of information that will help them plan for their future.  It is our mission to help each and every student reach their full potential as citizens capable of meeting the challenges of a changing society.
